ABOUT US
Hutt Art is an incorporated society, formed over 50 years ago, to provide a venue for people of the Hutt Valley to meet together and practise their art. Over the years it has expanded to incorporate the two old houses on the corner of Huia and Myrtle Street, which are now linked by the Odlin Gallery and the McCausland Foyer.
Hutt Art has groups of many different disciplines which meet regularly to work together, sometimes on their own, sometimes with a tutor. Membership of the society entitles members to participate in any group that is running, from different types of painting techniques to printing, from pottery to porcelain painting, from embroidery to weaving, A payment may be required if the group is tutored. A number of groups meet just for the companionship of working together, with members following their own interests and subject matter. Membership fees are $100 per year or $55 per 6 months.
Members of the society also exhibit regularly in our own gallery, the Odlin Gallery, either as part of a group or as individuals.
